Around us unfolds a beautiful ballet full of growth and possibility. Swollen flower buds burst open, bees buzz around pollinating, summer thunderstorms dampen the moment but invoke the lands to bloom wildly. Once again, everything around us feels alive.

THE INSPIRATION

The jump to summer can happen in the blink of an eye, suddenly the seeds sown a short time ago are painting the landscape in beautiful hues that shimmer in the sunlight. The gardens begin to overflow with beauty, I cant help but stand in awe of them.

What did we ever do to deserve the gift that is flowers? Their soft petals dance for us in the wind as their intoxicating aroma perfume the air. An invitation to come closer and inevitably fall in love.

The Summer tree is designed to evoke the beauty of a summer garden, a place that transports you to the highest feeling of joy. Like a bouquet of fresh cut flowers, that feeling is captured and brought indoors.

Typically the time we’re putting up trees in our living rooms, Summer is a faded memory from months long gone. We’re preparing for cold and darkness of the months ahead. That’s what makes the Summer tree so special in my opinion, it captures that feeling and let’s us hang on to it as long as we possibly can. It allows us to see the beauty of Summer every single day even if we don’t have gardens outside our windows.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

Designing the Summer tree was a special kind of challenge, it was the design I started with when building EVERGROVE because I knew it would be the hardest. Adorned with an endless amount of vibrant blooms, I wanted to capture the feeling of summer vacations, backyard BBQs, and the aliveness of a garden at the peak of summer.

The process was simple, yet brave—I dove in head first, gathering the brightest palette I could possibly find, praying everything would come together in perfect harmony. As a gardener who often has to visualize what the garden will look like in the dead of winter, sowing seeds and hoping the vision comes to life, this process felt wonderfully familiar.

I thought of the flowers that I love in my summer garden—sun-kissed cosmos, dazzling hydrangea, blissful lavendar, and fragrant roses—that just as expected, painted a beautiful landscape in front of me. Each bloom was a burst of sunshine, a whisper of laughter, and a celebration of those carefree summer evenings we all crave.

With every carefully placed petal and leaf, the Summer tree transformed from an idea into a living memory, inviting you to step inside and soak in the warmth and joy of those endless summer days. It wasn’t just a decoration; it was an invitation to relive your favorite moments under the sun.

THE SPECIAL ONE

Every tree has that one thing, I call it the Special One. It’s an element that whispers a secret, kept between two friends. It’s a unique element specific to just this season in time. Each season it’s a delight to pick a special one, often times the idea comes to me quickly, others it seeks me out. Either way, it makes it on to the tree and I find myself searching it out each time.

The Nesting Orb

There’s a certain kind of magic in things made with genuine intention—crafted not just by hand, but lovingly by heart. The Nesting Orb is one such treasured piece, where delicate raffia is carefully handwoven to create the perfectly rounded orb shape. Nestled inside, a charming female cardinal rests softly, surrounded by lush, natural moss.

While cardinals, especially the vivid red males, are often showcased on Christmas trees for their striking color, the female cardinal offers a quieter beauty. With her gentle, muted browns, she blends seamlessly into her surroundings, a subtle camouflage against predators. She finds solace and safety in this beautifully crafted, cozy home—perched snugly atop our EVERGROVE tree.
